The story
Vacation, sick and maternity leave set to the Employment Act
The Bahamas Employment Act sets a minimum of two weeks' vacation on completion of each twelve months of employment, with vacation pay rising from one week's basic pay at six months of service to three weeks' basic pay at seven years or more. Sick leave is one week paid per year after six months of service, with no pay for a one-day-only absence, no carryover, and a medical certificate required after the first day.
Maternity leave is not less than twelve weeks, one week before the expected date of confinement and eight weeks after, for an employee with twelve months of service and a medical certificate. The employer pays a minimum of thirty three and one third percent of wages, up to the National Insurance ceiling, once every three years.
The story
Cable Bahamas moved leave off paper and into self-service
Cable Bahamas, a Bahamian telecom operator with 850 employees across Nassau and the Family Islands, replaced manual leave tracking with self-service time-off requests routed for approval inside Workzoom. Employees log hours, request time off, and check pay stubs from the same self-service surface, on any device.
That change was part of a wider shift: payroll processing dropped 70 percent, from five days to a day and a half, with three payroll staff managing the full operation. The leave result belongs to Cable Bahamas and is not a guaranteed outcome for every buyer.
The story
One approval reaches the schedule and the pay run
When a manager approves a leave request, Workzoom removes the employee from the schedule and creates a vacancy that the scheduling module can fill from a ranked list of qualified staff. For salaried employees, the same approval calculates the payroll deduction and posts it to the next pay run automatically.
There is no export between the approval and the pay run, and no separate step for the schedule change. Managers approve with the requestor, duration, reason, balance, team calendar and a ranked substitute list on one screen, not blind.

Price the suite and evaluate your own leave policies
The Workforce Suite is US$4 per employee per month with a US$400 monthly minimum. All four suites, HR, Workforce, Payroll and Talent, are US$16 per employee per month with a US$700 monthly minimum. Implementation, migration, training and support are included; taxes and optional extras are separate.
Bring your own vacation, sick and maternity policies to a demonstration. Submit a request, approve it, and review the resulting schedule vacancy and payroll entry before moving your leave program, rather than relying on another customer's configuration.
