In the pay run

Where the difference shows up in a Bahamian pay run.

Four moments decide most Bahamian payroll evaluations. Open a row for the detail.

NIB on every pay run

Workzoom calculates NIB itself; Oracle's partner configures social insurance.

Workzoom calculates employer and employee NIB contributions on each Bahamas pay run and produces the C10 contribution statement from the payroll data.

Your team reviews it, submits it to the National Insurance Board and pays the contributions.

Oracle's International Payroll Core data sheet, checked October 24, 2026, lists social insurance among the local features that are customer or partner configured.

When NIB changes the ceiling

A rate or ceiling change has to reach the payroll rules.

The NIB weekly insurable ceiling is B$830 from July 1, 2026. Workzoom applies the NIB rates and the weekly ceiling on every Bahamas pay run.

Oracle's 24A payroll notes, checked October 24, 2026, say Payroll Core rules are configured and maintained by local partners.

Overtime under the Employment Act

Workzoom configures your overtime policy to the Act during implementation.

The Employment Act sets standard hours at eight hours a day and forty hours a week, with overtime paid at not less than one and one-half times the regular rate.

In Workzoom, your overtime, public holiday and leave policies are configured to the Act during implementation, then applied on every pay run, and compliance stays your responsibility.

Oracle's Payroll Core data sheet, checked October 24, 2026, lists pay rules and leave as customer or partner configured.

Bank files for Bahamian banks

Each bank's file format gets set up once, at implementation.

Workzoom generates the bank disbursement file for each pay run, with each bank's format confirmed and configured during implementation. Workzoom does not hold, pool or move payroll funds.

Oracle's Payroll Core data sheet, checked October 24, 2026, lists banking standards and formats as customer or partner configured.

Fit

When Oracle fits, and when Workzoom does.

Both are real products with real customers. The right one depends on your size, your ERP and your countries.

Oracle is likely the better fit if

  • You run Oracle Fusion ERP and want HR, payroll and finance in one Oracle cloud.
  • Your group or ministry already standardizes HR on Oracle across its entities.
  • You pay people in many countries; Oracle's payroll page states more than 60 (S1).
  • You need technical support requests answered 24x7x365 (S7).
  • You have at least 500 employees, the minimum on Oracle's list price (S5).

Workzoom is likely the better fit if

  • Your payroll is Bahamian and you want NIB calculated in the product, not configured by a partner.
  • You want a published per-employee price and no long-term contract.
  • You want the people who implement the system to answer your support calls.
  • You want HR, Payroll, Workforce and Talent on one employee record.

Workzoom is not the right choice for a group that needs full payroll outside Canada, the United States, and the Bahamas today, or one that wants payroll inside its ERP.

  3. How is our overtime policy set up under the Employment Act's daily and weekly test?
  4. What will we pay in year one at our headcount, including minimums, term and implementation?
