How HCM works.
HCM describes the full employment lifecycle from requisition through exit, including recruiting, onboarding, performance, learning, and succession, layered on top of core HR data. The distinction from an HRIS is scope rather than technology: the HRIS is the record, HCM is the record plus the processes acting on it.
