An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) manages the hiring pipeline from job posting through offer acceptance.

Modern ATS tools include resume parsing, candidate screening, and candidate communication. Workzoom Recruitment is an ATS that converts hired candidates into employees on the same record. No rekeying between hiring and HR.
How ATS works.
An applicant tracking system manages requisitions, applications, screening, interviews, and offers, and holds the record of how each hiring decision was reached. The compliance function matters as much as the workflow: many jurisdictions require selection records be retained and be capable of demonstrating consistent treatment. The handoff into onboarding is where candidate data becomes employee data, and where re-keying usually creeps in.
Where ATS goes wrong.
- Candidate data re-entered by hand at hire seeds errors into the employee record on day one, before the person has run a single pay cycle.
- Screening criteria applied inconsistently across requisitions, with no record of the reasoning behind a pass or a reject, is difficult to defend if a hiring decision is ever challenged. And retention periods for applicant records left unconfigured mean data sits in the system longer than the applicable rule allows, quietly building compliance risk nobody assigned anyone to watch.
- 2000 Running payroll since Workzoom has run Canadian payroll for 25+ years.
- Canadian data residency AWS Canada (ca-central-1). Canadian customer data stays in Canada.
- SOC 2-aligned controls Encrypted at rest, role-based access, immutable audit logs.
- Trusted in production County of Renfrew, Silvera for Seniors, and Cable Bahamas. Built for 50 to 5,000 employees.
