Running Payroll is a big responsibility… Hard deadlines must be met, people must get paid and it’s up to Payroll to get it done. Unfortunately, HR usually doesn’t make life easy. It’s not because they’re trying to make life difficult, but they have different priorities driving them and getting information bridged between the two departments is typically manual and error prone. The information also tends to come in waves, meaning Payroll tends to find out changes last minute, sometimes after the pays have gone out.
