Workzoom Security: Frequently Asked Questions

If you're wondering how we care for and protect your data, we've compiled a few commonly asked questions to get you the information you need.

How is my data hosted by Workzoom?

Data in Workzoom is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), held in data centers across Canada and the US to ensure the highest system performance.  AWS provides robust business continuity, with a recovery regime, while also complying with international data security requirements. We provide security you can count on. For our Canadian clients, all data resides in Canada. Learn more about our Technology Platform.

What about encryption?

All data in motion and in transit is encrypted using 128-bit+ TLS 1.2 over TCP/IP using a 2048-bit certificate and strong cipher suites. Data at rest is encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES 256).

Is my data always available to me?

We use real-time replication for your data, across different availability zones with a minimum distance of 100km (60 miles). This mitigates environmental and/or infrastructure related failures. Workzoom utilizes Elastic Cloud Servers and containerization technology, which ensures on-demand scalability and replicability while maintaining strict control over your data.

How is my data backed up?

Encrypted back-ups are taken daily, which are stored securely off-site at a minimum distance of 100km (60 miles) from the primary server locations.

Any other Workzoom security measures I should know about?

Data security is also extended within the Workzoom itself in a number of ways including:

  • Who can log into the system with start and end dates
  • What subjects a user can access
  • What tasks a user can perform
  • What data a user can view, add, update, remove, etc.
